Villa Rose Inn was very close to the pier and beach. A brief walk to State Street and all the shops. Resturants along the beach very close. Breakfast was nice touch. Staff was pleasant.
A bit high priced for what you received. Needs some work in the rooms. Shutters broken, bathroom door would not shut all the way closed, mixed decor in the room. Santa Barbara can get away with charging that much, same hotel away from the beach price would be $49.00
Location was excellent - easy walk to beach/restaurants and shuttle to State St. Shopping (or walk).
Had an exterior facing room and it seemed a little noisy. Bathroom was very small.
Fine care staff, especially the new employee Camila
Nice hotel - shabby chic! Staff very helpful
The amenities were great. Breakfast, wine and cheese.
The cleaning staff didn't seem to keep the kitchen area very clean or make the beds right.
Only real positive aspect is the location. Staff is ok, but the hotel I found it very poor.
The hotel outside and especially inside looks fatiscent; old roooms, looking very poor, no feeling of clean environment, very little WC, very small swimming pool. Would be worth only if you pay no more than 80-100 USD for a double. Very simple breakfast and simple cocktail do not add much.
We booked for 3 nights but only stayed the required 1. The room we were offered at firstwas disgaceful for the money. It smelled and had no door to the 'en suite' facilities.
The hotel did not suit our needs and was grossly over priced.
It was quite nice in a historical sense.
The hotel needs to upgrade its hanidcapped status.
Rustic charm, nice continental breakfast, great location
I have a bad back and knees, I was put on the second floor with no elevator..shower was hard to get into, should have a safty bar. Noisy.
We enjoyed the breakfasts and the quiet location. The bed was very comfortable and the sleeping was great.
The parking is limited and inconvenient. There was no bath soap.
Not recommended! Rooms have no sound insulation, so you hear the bathroom activities in the room above you. Also, the kitchen staff starts breaking up ice at 7am, so loud it wakes you up. Furnace wouldn't shut off when we checked in, so they "fixed it" by shutting it off. The next day, it wouldn't turn on!! Probably an electrical problem. No smoke detector in the room. They moved us to a different room for the third night. That room had a hair dryer that had a bad electrical connection. Front Desk clerk in the daytime (female) was very grumpy, and not helpful. When we checked out, the clerk (male) was not interested in feedback.
This is an old old building, apartments probably at one time, that has been converted to a :B&B" but with the exception of the common areas has not been upgraded. The rooms are tacky, bathrooms tiny, plumbing iffy, and amenities not.
Morning breakfasts, afternoon wine, and evening port were nice attractive features.
Room was old fashioned room and kitchen in need of new paint, caulking of areas in the bathroom, hair dryer was non-existent in the room, venetian blinds not all working, window openers not all working. In the closet was an old printer. Seemed like the room did not have much maintenance done to it.
Near the beach and moderate price
This hotel needs a 'refresh' and a real good cleaning!
